This September, Coney have been invited by Teatret Vårt, Høstscena and Norsk Skuespillersenter to deliver a workshop in Ålesund, Norway. We’re over the moon to be joining them on 28th September, presenting a day-long event where we’ll share techniques for making interactive and tech-clever theatre.
The workshop is programmed as part of PlatformShift+, an artistic network created by the European Commission to meet the new challenges of producing theatre for young people in the digital age.
Aimed at artists and makers, Coney’s workshop will take place over a full day sharing our principles, processes and techniques for making interactive theatre, adventures and play. You’ll learn skills and tools for making responsive performance, by using game design and prototyping, to play with ideas for technology. There will be opportunity to look at the lo-fi tech toolkits Coney uses in projects and the innovative ways in which they engage their audiences.
At the end of day, you’ll walk away with a practical toolkit for scoping and designing interactive play for audiences, integrating tech where it is clever to do so, and understand affordances and challenges of doing so.
