Janet K Howe is a London based, international immersive, interactive, and site-specific director, creator, consultant, and producer. Janet’s work has appeared across the United States, Berlin, Rome, Paris, and London. Since 2012, Janet has served as Co-Artistic director with (re)discover theatre in Chicago, producing twenty shows, eight large events, and ongoing programing.
Janet’s background in dance and design creates highly visual and multi-sensory experiences. Past works include Farewell My Friend, a three-floor free-roaming immersive adaptation of Rome & Juliet and Tristan & Iseult; FOR ONE, a series of experiences built for an audience of one; Masque Macabre, a 14-character open-world dive into the stories of Edgar Allen Poe; and The Liminal House of the Adjudicate a playful afterlife experience examining value and how we weigh the lives we’ve lived.
Currently, Janet is studying immersive theatre in London, focusing on accessibility in immersive forms and the power of play in unpacking challenging topics. Janet has trained with Punchdrunk, Third Rail Projects, The Neo Futurist, Frantic Assembly, and has worked with Blast Theory and now Coney.
