What do you do in your Coney hat?
I’m General Manager of Coney, responsible for keeping the HQ engine turning over. That means wearing a lot of hats, including day-to-day communications, finances and operations, and generally making sure the people and culture of Coney are well looked after. I’ve recently worked on tasks from commissioning a Coney animation, to signing us up as an accredited Real Living Wage employer, with lots more besides. If you’re not sure who at Coney to ask about something, I can usually point you in the right direction!
What other hats do you wear?
Outside of Coney I write poems – recently published in journals including Magma, Poetry Wales, The Rialto – and take part in more writing workshops than I really have time for. The best place to find my work is on Twitter @RowanLyster. I also sing, arrange and conduct with the wonderfully collaborative SHE Choir Bristol.
What excites you most about Coney?
The infinite variety – I’ve been here for almost 4 years now and I’m yet to see two projects that look the same! We work with such an astonishing range of people and organisations, and the fact all our work is made for/by/with players means that no two shows or games are ever the same.
What’s your favourite game?
Would You Rather – an inexhaustible staple of walks and boring car journeys.
