REMOTE

An interactive live game

Imagine you’re in a theatre of the future, powered by an algorithm. REMOTE was an interactive live game interrogating the politics of choice and decision-making in an immaterial world, saturated with technology.

April 2016; November 2017

About the project

REMOTE was a piece of game-theatre played sitting down and led entirely by the audience. As well as being themselves, the audience were also, together, playing a character, and asked to make choices for her.

Fusing an interactive script with a live and responsive sound design, REMOTE was a mechanical theatre game. Its 2017, and we’re a room full of mostly strangers, imagining the future.

The show played at Camden People’s Theatre in April 2016 and went on tour in 2017.
