Coney is recruiting for another 6-month Trainee Producer placement through Kickstart – the Government scheme to support 16–24 year olds through providing paid work placements for young people on Universal Credit. If you are passionate about the arts, looking to begin or build on your career, we want to hear from you.
This is a great opportunity to develop a wide range of skills in a friendly, supportive environment whilst bringing a fresh perspective to support the company. The successful candidate will receive training and support throughout the placement with clear development objectives and support in their next steps.

Please note – to apply you must be aged 16-24, currently be claiming Universal Credit, and apply through local Job Centres following a referral from your Work Coach.
About the role
The role will be located at Coney’s London office (or from home if Covid-19 measures remain in place) and will work 25 hours per week for 6 months, paid at London Living Wage.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Coney HQ team, especially our Producers, to support the delivery of Coney’s programme. Across the 6 month period Coney will deliver a number of projects for, by and with specific communities and young people, as well as hosting our artist development and exchange programme with makers from the Guild of Coney.
Essential skills and experience include:
- An interest in a career in producing, project management or arts administration within a theatre or arts context;
- IT skills including Microsoft Office;
- Organisation and time-management;
- Excellent communication and people skills;
- A willingness to work independently and as part of team.
To be eligible for the scheme you must meet the following criteria
- 16-24 years old
- Claiming Universal Credit
- Struggling to secure work or an apprenticeship
- Would benefit from a quality six month paid job along with support and guidance to build your long-term career
